Half way there!! Yay. While I'm enjoying pregnancy during my second trimester. I'm starting to get uncomfortable sitting, standing or laying down for long periods of time. I bought two cute wall signs to hang in Baby Lily's room at the craft fair this weekend. One says "A Princess Sleeps Here" and the other has a little castle on it and I was able to put whatever I wanted on it. My mind went totally blank. I ended up going with the Cinderella quote "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes." I meant to take pictures to share. I'll have to do that this week. I also got a few other things for her as did my sister. Got the crib and dresser ordered and paid for this past weekend. The crib was available but we are going to pick it up with the dresser when it arrives in 7-14 days. So excited to hopefully have our nursery furniture before Thanksgiving. Then I can put the clothes I've bought away and really start decorating.
I'm starting to feel fat again. I went through a nice phase the last several weeks with a cute bump and all. Now my natural waist is pretty much gone as I keep expanding. I feel like I'm expanding everywhere. Not sure if I really am or if it just feels like it. I did a ton of walking this past weekend so I could have just been swollen/bloated. My maternity pants still fit in the hips and legs, but it's feeling weird around my belly. I tried to wear a normal XL shirt this weekend. While it still fit in some places, it was way to tight in others. Guess I'm fully into maternity clothes now for comfort.
Two more weeks until my next doctors appointment.
Re: 20 weeks
Yay to starting to decorate! If you need any ideas, let me know! I would love to help! Those signs sound adorable! What a way to start building a theme!
Don't feel fat, feel like you are buliding a human!
Sorry you are starting to feel fat. I told my mom the same thing last night. Even though I have not gained a pound, my body is just feeling different and not in a good way.
The room sounds like it is coming along. That's great. We don't own our house so we can only do very little when it comes to decorating. No painting is allowed.
Congrats on being half-way there! You must be so excited.
Married the love of my life on 1-21-12. Our princess arrived on 5-28-13.
Thanks! I am excited. I'm still not sure if we are going to paint the room or not. Currently our house is a very light neutral tan color, except the hall bath and kitchen which are different shades of green.
So far the colors of the signs for the baby's room are light and dark purple, light pink, and light green. If I painted, my pick would be a light lavender color with dark purple, dark green and light pink accents. I was wanting to keep the room less girly, more gender neutral with green as the main color. But I guess the girly part of me is coming out. Plus it's freaking hard to find something for a girl that isn't pink or purple.
My room inspirations were the below pictures. I've also found a purple and orange dragon wall decal but DH isn't sure if it will stick to our walls since they have a very light texture to them.
Ohhh, I found a really cute hippo hat that I want to get Baby Lily. I like it in the gray and pink.

Cute inspiration!! Love it! When we have kids, I want everything to be in green and yellow, regardless of what we're having. I'm almost afraid of too much pink, so a small side of me teases J that if we find out we're having a girl, then we don't tell anyone, since girl usually equals pink, ruffle, frill overload haha
I'm jealous of those outlet covers. I want some for my room!
I am a big fan of "gender neutralism" so to speak. That doesn't mean that I am opposed to pink for girls and blue for boys. But does everything for a girl really need to be pink?
I got frustrated with this in the toy department at target when I was shopping for gifts for my child attendants. They had the girl legos in a completely different spot from the boy legos. Really, why can't there be one lego aisle. Why do girl legos need to be pink and purple. Why do boy legos need to be bright bold colors or even black?
We say as a society that we want to be gender equal, but we still are in the 1960s in young children's products. And that is the point where children learn about things like equality.
Yes!!! I'm in complete agreement. I don't mind a little pink but why is everything for a baby girl pink and everything for a baby boy blue? Most of the clothes I have so far are yellows and greens. I was trying to make the nursery more neutral with blue, red, yellow, green, purple and maybe a dash of pink thrown in. Like the outlet cover. We'll see if I can pull it together. I need to find a fabric for curtains and a dust ruffle for the crib.
And I told my sister not to buy all pink. She loves pink. I know that everyone will be buying Lily pink stuff. My MIL bought an outfit this past weekend and texted it to me so I wouldn't buy the same one from the craft fair. Yeahhhhhh, totally not my style or taste. It's 100% ruffles in pink. I'm guessing it's supposed to be a cute jumper type thing. DH said he thought it was cute. He saw it in person. I only saw the picture. When I got the text I told my sister I will probably only ever put Lily in it for a picture for his mom and that's it.
It's not ugly. It's just too pink and too many ruffles for me. I do like the hair band/bow that she got to go with it.

I found it on Amazon. They have a double wall switch plate too. The single switch plate and the night light are unavailable. I hope and wish they would come back into stock. I actually found the art as wall murals at first. There are tons of designs. Somehow it led me to the outlet plate. I would love to get a mural but I think it's a bit out of my price range. I love the one called Train of Dreams.
Okay not sure if I can get the link to work, but the website is www.muralsyourway.com. I searched for dragon ones and like the artwork by Randal Spangler.
Instead I found the a few dragon wall decals that are much cheaper. Just worried about whether they will stick to our walls since they are mildly textured.
My first pick:

And depending on the size and other wall decor, I might get this next one too.

On a side note...
There is a shower at work for a teacher on Monday. In the email it was requested 3 times that we are not allowed to buy anything pink for a new baby girl. This made me so mad! I get that you don't want everything pink, but don't tell me what I can and can't get you. So I am not getting them a gift. Honestly, I am probably even go to the shower. I am sure the teacher doesn't even know my name.
ok..thats just my 2 cents.
Ack! That's terrible - the invite part. Terribly rude and tacky! I probably wouldn't go either.
While I don't want all pink, I'm not going to tell everyone that. I only told my sister not to buy everything in pink because my sister loves pink. It's her favorite color. She can buy pink, just in moderation. I wouldn't even think of telling others this. And no I haven't told my MIL that I don't love the outfit. I just told her thanks and I couldn't wait to see it in person.
Awesome idea!!! Wishing we'd done that. But that cat is out of the bag already so I just need to remember that for the next one.
